Re: Guidance on parsing this

Hello, The default Log4j v1 Parser that comes with LogMX doesn't support the NDC part, hence the issues you encountered. This may be fixed in a future version (also now the focus is more on Log4j v2). So for now, you can create your own Parser: in the menu "File", pick item "Configure Log Parsers......

Re: Problem using HTTP file manager

OK thanks we will investigate that. In the meantime, you can always create Parsers at anytime by going to menu "Tools" > "Options" > tab "Parsers" > green "+" button at the right.

Re: Problem using HTTP file manager

Hi, About the first message: it seems that a network issue happened. When did this message show up? What is the file size? You said "With connection reset in 15 or 20 seconds" . What does it mean? About the second message: it means the log file you are trying to read is using a log format that none ...

Re: Problem using HTTP file manager

Hi, In the end, we had to slightly adjust the LogMX code in order to allow Authentication in HTTP[S] Log File Managers, so instead of sending you the new Log Manager only, I sent you (via Private Message on this forum) the links to nightly builds so you can try the new Log Manager. Please let me kno...

Re: Problem using HTTP file manager

Hello, You're right, and you just discovered a bug. Sorry about that. Thank you for your (detailed!) feedback, I think it should be fixed in the next release, that should be available in a couple of weeks. Please let me know if you don't want to wait for the release, I will send you just the new Htt...

Re: HTTP "listener" Log Manager

Hello, Good idea. But I guess the way to implement this HTTP listener depends on your needs: raw HTTP GETs/POSTs, REST API style with JSON log entries in the body, log entries put inside the HTTP request URL, ... So depending on this, you may want to use: the basic JDK HTTP features , or a richer fr...

Re: first usage

Hello, Here are the steps to create a Parser for such logs: Go to menu "File" > item "Configure Log Parsers..." Click on the green "+" button at the right to create a Parser (or double-click on the Parser to edit, if you already have tried creating a Parser) Select the tab "Log4j/Logback pattern Par...

Re: Support for Nlog using log4J format

Hello, For now, LogMX doesn't come with a NLog Parser (and as you can see here , this NLog format seems different from Log4jXMLLayout), so you can create a LogParser in LogMX in order to parse this new format: you can go to menu "File" > item "Configure Log Parsers...", and click on the green "+" bu...

Re: Show entries before/after filtered entries

Thanks for these ideas (I like the first one because when you think of it, that's how "grep" context works: no difference between context lines and actually matching lines)

Re: logMX fail to launch

Hello, We strongly recommend using Oracle VMs (JRE or JDK), since we previously had many issues with OpenJDK. If you cannot uninstall OpenJDK that's fine, you can use a stand-alone private JRE/JDK only for LogMX, thanks to the setting "JAVA_PATH" in the file "<LogMXRootDir>/startup.conf". Link to do...

Re: logMX fail to launch

Hello, I understand what happens (Java couldn't create a mouse cursor because its image couldn't be loaded properly), but I don't understand why. Could you please let me know what you get if you type "java -version" in a shell? (I'm interested in the complete output: java version + JVM type / vendor...
