Re: Cannot upgrade from 7.5 to 7.7
Hello, If you are talking about upgrading from the application itself, yes, sorry it is a known bug (see https://logmx.com/download#v7.6.0T), you need to upgrade it manually. Here is how to do it: https://logmx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19&p=46#p46 Please let me know if you have any question. Xa...

Re: Quick Open
Hello, Unless I missed something, I think this use case is already covered by the URL bar in the main window toolbar: you can paste there any complex LogMX URL and it will load it, the matter the LogManager (FTP, SFTP, SFTP-DIR, SMB, ...). If you're note sure about the syntax to use for the URL, you...

Re: command line option to open in existing session
Hello, Thanks, that's a good idea, I like it :) I guess if LogMX listens to a local/loopback interface, there shouldn't be any firewall issue. I also wonder if there could be any performance hit when the port is already used by another process (could be LogMX or other). If it takes a short timeout (...

Re: show all lines between two lines
Hello,
LogMX v7.7.0 has just been released, and it includes this feature (you can now show any given log entries range - and only these entries, by selecting at least 2 entries and right-clicking on the entries table)

OK thanks, added to our backlog (it was actually not already on it!)

Re: show all lines between two lines
Hello, It's actually something we already had in our backlog, and we had already found a way to provide such a feature: when multiple rows are selected, and a right-click is made, we would add an item "Display only this range" in the "Filter entries" contextual sub-menu. For now, when a single row i...

Re: make it easier to reload after parser failure
Hello, When we can, we try to add a "Cancel" option so that if the user doesn't understand the question or doesn't understand the consequences of the choice that [s]he has to make, this option "Cancel" basically means "Mmh... not sure, forget about it, don't do anything" :D. It's a subtle UX thing t...

Re: ability to save enabled emitter state
We chose to use "hide these emitters" instead of "show only these emitters" so that if at some point there is a new emitter that you didn't expect, you would not miss it. But yes, that's extra work for you in the case you actually don't need to see this new Emitter as well. In this case, you can als...

Re: ability to save enabled emitter state
Hello, Maybe there's something I missed something, but from what I understand, what you are trying to do is already possible through the "Filtering state" feature. As you said, you can save/load filtering state, but the thing is for each Filtering state, you can define the list of emitter to silence...

Re: command line option to open in existing session
Hello, You're right, that's indeed something that would be really useful. Sadly, it's not trivial because of the cross-platform constraints. We have a lot of Windows and macOS users, but also Linux. It is not something that is supported by the Java platform for now (but might be later, since the las...

Re: what determines emitter color
Yes, your description of how the colors are determined is correct. Nailed it :D (in my last message I forgot to explain the gray color!) Concerning a new option for this emitters tree, I'm not sure to understand why you would want to use other colors? To match your level colors maybe? In this case, ...
