Re: Auto merge of tailed log files

Hello Adrian, OK, I think it's very close to what I was thinking of. Just that you talk about performing this "Merged Tail" once all files are already opened (in trailing mode), whereas I suggested that user can do this without opening all the files to merge (in "File" > "Open", you would just selec...

Re: Auto merge of tailed log files

Hello Adrian, Do you mean allowing both existing features "Tail" and "Merge" at the same time? More precisely: Currently, you can (using "File" > "Open"): - [Merge] open N files so that only one tab is opened, containing the merge of these N files - [Tail] open N files so that N tabs are opened, eac...

Re: Scaled, server based LogMX

Hello, It can be done by developing a LogMX "Log Manager", a LogMX pluggable component that is responsible for reading log file bytes from any underlying source, for example FTP, Oracle DB, POP3, or in your case, a "Log cache", that would cache log files content to avoid direct access to files on di...

Re: Multiple environment/workspace tabs in LogMX

Hello, I understand this would be useful when you have a lot of opened files that you want to "group"... a big evolution, though a good idea! I record this request for analyze, but I don't think it will be implemented in the next release. I will let you know if this feature becomes available in a fu...

Re: export reports (CSV and etc...) via Java API

Hello, Here are a few points about the "Export" feature: Only "Professional" versions include this feature (i.e. a license has to be purchased) This feature (accessible from "Tools" > "Export log entries") allows you to export log entries to a CSV, XML, or HTML file, or a new LogMX file tab Using th...

Re: Setting up parser to timestamp GC CMS Logs

Hello,

Yes, indeed we plan to add a "Parsers Repository" to our website :P .

Future versions of LogMX will be able to access this repository.
LogMX developers but also LogMX users will be able to add Parsers to his Repository.

Re: Problem: Optional "Message" field

Hello, Nice try Adrian, but using a Simple parser will cause the same problem (it internally uses a backed-log4j parser ) Here is a Java Class Parser, tested with your log format: http://www.logmx.com/downloads/forum/SampleParser2.java. Here is how to build this parser: http://www.logmx.com/p_...

Re: Add > >= < <= filters for the ID column

Hello Adrian,

OK, we will try to add these operators when filtering by ID.
In the meantime, you may want to export selected log entries in a new tab using Tools > Export (select "New LogMX file tab", and "selected entries") (this can be seen as another way to filter entries :?)

Re: Setting up parser to timestamp GC CMS Logs

Hello Adrian, You may have to use your own Java Class Parser to do so (one of the ways to read logs with LogMX). You will find an example of a CMS GC Log parser here: http://www.logmx.com/downloads/forum/CMSGCLogParser.java With this Parser, I successfully merged several CMS GC log files, interlaced...

Re: Reading Apache web logs

Hello, To read such logs, you can add a Java Class Parser (see https://logmx.com/parser-dev). Here is a Java Class: https://logmx.com/downloads/forum/ApacheWebLogsParser.java And here is the result: https://logmx.com/pics/forum/sshot1.png Let me know if you have trouble installing or using this Pars...
