Tail option before loading file?

Post by 20100 »

is it possible to activate the tail option before opening the log file?

I have a big log file and i just need to tail it in real time.
If i open my log file an error occurs, cause i can't activate the tail option before loading.

Thanks for your help

Hello,

Do you mean making LogMX parse only the end of the file when the user would open this file? (of course only if he had checked a new option to enable AutoRefresh+entries limit).
What about adding this new "tail" option to the "open file" dialog options? (currently, you can show/hide these options by clicking on "Merged settings" since v1.1.1).
According to our current roadmap, this feature could be available for March 2008.

For now, I suggest you increase the amout of RAM LogMX can use (-Xmx option in your launch script in LogMX directory: "launcher.cfg" when using LogMX.exe, or "LogMX.bat", or "logmx.sh" for Linux/Mac)

Xavier.
