Export log entries

Post by s1698 »

Hi,
i am a beginner with logmx and i tried to export log data.
Unfortunately I found only Id, Timestamp, Thread, Emitter, Level and Message to check for export.
But I want to export some user fields I defined in my simple parser.
What must I do the reach my data? Many thanks for help.

Hello Hans,

I've just tried with v3.1.0, using a Simple parser and a user-defined field, and the "Export log entries" window allows me to export this user-defined field. Maybe if you have a specific display/font setting, this "Export log entries" window is too small to display user-defined fields: have you tried to resize this window to give more room for fields?

Hi,
you are right. I just found out, that it generally works fine.
In fact I unsually work with merged files because our server is load balanced and I always have two files of all.
And it seems to me that for merges the export do not offer user defined fields.
Do you think there is a way to solve this?
Many thanks

Hello Hans,

It's indeed a known limitation in LogMX v3.1.0 when exporting merged files. The next version will allow the export of fields "Merged file" and user-defined fields on merged files.
I will let you know about this new release by posting a message on this forum thread.

Hello Hans,

LogMX v3.2.0 is now available, and can now also export:
  • "Merged file" entry field for merged files
  • any user-defined field for merged files
